Ernie's New Years resolution for 2011

One thing I’ve known for a long time but didn't put into practice enough, that is until I joined Operation Boot Camp (OBC), is that if you have a goal you are more likely to achieve it if you tell others about it. Well here goes, one of my goals/resolutions for 2011 is to run a thousand miles. I think some of my friends who attend OBC have this as one of their goals too.

At this time last year I was taking the 1st step of carrying through on my 2010 resolution, which was to get healthy. I signed up for my 1st OBC session. The session was not scheduled to start until March, but at least I had made the commitment by putting my money where my mouth is so to say. Looking back, I can honestly say that this has been one of the best return on investments I have ever made. I know non-specific goals can be hard to measure, but based off of a comparison of my health from last year to now I’m going to claim success.

Accomplishing the 1,000 mile goal isn’t going to be easy, but as long as I stay healthy, which involves fitness and nutrition, both of which are part of OBC program, then this will be another resolution I keep.

By the way, as of today I’m at 128 miles for the year. With the daily running that is part of OBC program and the additional running we've been doing training for an upcoming half marathon the miles are adding up!
